Akihito Ito was the main member of Blasterhead, which was at different points a music unit of several composers and a solo project of Ito.

He disappeared in 2013 following the financial failure to develop Makki, Shoujobyou -Lyrical pop World's end- under the Blasterhead brand; he was scheduled to DJ at the Aki-Bug Super event on March 9 but failed to show. In his final tweet on March 4, he suggested that he might attempt suicide.
